Security Recovery Services

How can your agency recover from a security breach and minimize the damage to your network and data? The key is to quickly analyze the data to determine the cause of the breach and to immediately implement a solution. The Division of State Information Technology’s (DSIT) Chief Security Officer staff provides the following recovery services:

Understand the Service

  • Forensic Analysis
Provide detailed analysis of hard drives or other media in order to make determinations of fact.

Your computer investigation, conducted by certified personnel, can be investigated and analyzed to determine if an employee has committed fraud or any other unauthorized action against your agency.  Deleted data is recovered and timelines created to show the chain of events. Evidence is handled using industry best practices and maintained and analyzed with forensic software.

  • Intrusion Artifact Capture and Analysis
Found something on your server and not sure what it does?

DSIT security engineers have experience in analyzing and determining what these executables are and what they can do. With numerous unidentified hacking tools, and new ones frequently created, it is often necessary to investigate programs, services and processes to determine if they are legitimate or if they are, in fact, the tool of an unidentified intruder.

  • Incident Consulting and Law Enforcement Coordination
Need to call law enforcement to report your security breach and need to know what they will do?

DSIT security engineers can meet with you to determine the extent of your agency’s security breach and your operation requirements. Then, we can help facilitate the involvement of law enforcement during a critical time. Our DSIT Chief Security Officer staff knows who to call, what they can and cannot do, and what they will want from you.

DSIT Chief Security Officer staff works with you to:

    • Review existing security policies, both explicitly documented and implied
    • Map policies into a customized Security Policy
    • Train your agency’s staff on Security Policy
