MetroNet
For enhanced service at pricing you control, the Division of State Information Technology (DSIT) offers MetroNet to provide cost effective and reliable access to the backbone of the state network and to the Internet.
Understand the Service
The state network, known as the South Carolina Information Network (SCINET), is made up of two components from the perspective of management and ownership. A vast majority of the network is owned and operated by private sector telecommunications carriers that are operating under a State Term Contract to provide network services to the State of South Carolina.
The state-owned part of SCINET is known as MetroNet and primarily serves state agency headquarter locations in the Columbia, S.C., area. Providing many more options, the redesigned MetroNet allows you to select the service level that meets your needs.
