SC Organization for Project Excellence (SCOPE)

The Division of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO), now the Division of State Information Technology (DSIT), embarked on an endeavor to create a statewide project management training program to provide highly skilled project managers for small/minor agency projects to major/multi-agency projects in State government.   The State CIO’s Project Management Office conducted its first Senior Project Management class in November 2004. Shortly thereafter, the need for a project management networking and educational organization was identified and South Carolina Organization for Project Excellence (SCOPE) was established. 

The purpose of the SCOPE is to build and share a body of knowledge and best practices concerning the disciplines of project and portfolio management in State government. SCOPE activities are open to project managers from State and local government agencies, State vendors and educational institutions or their designees.
