800 Rebanding Information

South Carolina is in the 3rd 800 MHz rebanding Wave which kicked off in January 3, 2006. Currently all non-NPSPAC frequencies are frozen as the Wave 3 reallocation of the lower 120 channels has begun. voluntary negotiations for the NPSPAC and upper 800 MHz frequencies starts August 1, 2006, however some licensees have already been contacted.Planning Funding request can be submitted 75 days prior to the begining of each Phase.

In preparation for rebanding agencies should begin taking inventory of their equipment/ radio that would be affected by rebanding.

Inventories should included 800 MHz - mobiles, portables, desktop control stations, system watch, console control stations, fixed repeaters, programming software and system infrastructure for private county systems. For additional information see the links below to the Motorola Rebanding Web Site and 800 MHz TA (Transition Administrator) Web Site.
